Understand The Times Bryce Homes International Program Expands to Mexico |

Last year Understand The Times indicated we were
looking at the possibility of expanding the Bryce Homes Program to other
countries. Since 2006 when the program was initiated in Myanmar with one Bryce
Home and 20 children, the program has expanded to the Philippines, Kenya, and
South Africa with over 60 Bryce Homes and 300 children and caretakers. 2016
marks the 10th year since the establishment of the first Bryce Home, and God is
still leading us on to reach out to poor and unfortunate families in other parts
of the world. Over the last three months, I have travelled to several locations in the northern area of Mexico looking at the possibility of expanding the Bryce Homes program. As with other countries where we are working, we have met key individuals and pastors who are willing to take responsibility for implementing the Bryce Homes program in their area. I have traveled to Reynosa across the border from Mc Allen, Texas, Juárez just south of El Paso, Texas, and San Felipe and Héroes de la Independencia located in the northern part of the Baja. The first three Bryce Homes are now
established in the region of Héroes de la Independencia, located about 60 miles
east of Encinadas. These three families will receive monthly support that will
assist them with food, clothing, and other basic needs. As with the other
countries, the primary focus is to choose families that are not only in
desperate physical need but also those connected with a church in the region
where the pastor is diligent about teaching the Word of God and caring for his
flock.
