Bryce Homes Kenya Update |
|||||
As we come to the end of the second month of the year 2025, we are highly elated to share the good deeds that widows and orphans continue to experience here in Kenya. Bryce Homes Program in Kenya was able to visit these households and, as one of our key assignments, gathered every bit of testimony from the beneficiaries of this life impacting program. As we always do, every month, we were able to visit and distribute the gifts which are always in form of essential foodstuff and detergents to every household. Our visit was greeted with loads of testimonies.
Agnes (BH #8) had an opportunity to share with us how she has continued to live a life full of hope for over a decade. Her early years in marriage were full of challenges since she took over 3 years in before bearing a child in marriage. At one time, she says, she was almost sent away from her matrimonial home because the culture here did not welcome barren women. Fortunately, she later bore a child and began to live a happy life given her husband had a steady source of income. Suddenly, their only breadwinner died and left her with nothing to sustain her life and the daughter. She narrates how her father in-law began to provide for her and the only daughter to at least live on a meal a day. It, however, did not take too long before the father in-law too passed away. This even added a burden to their household since she had to accommodate three other orphans who also totally depended on their grandfather (father in-law) for a living. It is during this time that Bryce Homes Program reached them and their life gradually changed for better. Widow Agnes narrated this when so emotional in expressing the value of this program in the lives of the vulnerable.
We also have the case of Lewnida (BH #11) who is equally a widow who had a lot in testimony regarding the impact of this program in her life. Interestingly, she begins by recognizing the fact that the redeeming gospel of Jesus Christ was the first gift she received. May be to shed more light on this, Roger Oakland, the founder of Bryce Homes Program shared the gospel of salvation and Lewnida gave her life to Christ. She further shared how she perennially suffered damages caused by floods that always left them without a shelter. This is because they live in a semi-arid plain land which always experience the two extremes of weather conditions (extremely dry or extremely wet). “We felt so honored to be built a more durable house that has always given us the much needed comfort in all weather conditions,” Said Lewnida. “We have since experienced wet seasons but never had any challenges with the shelter as before.” She again expressed how the regular provision of foodstuff has helped her in raising children who are now grow ups and continues to sustain her with the grandchildren. She concluded by conveying words of gratitude to every last one of the readers who relentlessly donate to enable them put a meal on the table.

I therefore want to thank every one of you for the godly responsibility that you have continued to undertake to put a smile in the faces of these children of God. We request you to pray with us for some households who are trusting God for learning materials to enable their children stay in school for education. We would like to know any prayer need from you so we may as well stand with you in prayers.
