Satan’s plan to deceive man is clear from the Scriptures. When the serpent first appeared in the Garden of Eden, he immediately enticed Eve to fall for his plan. While God had made it clear that eating the “forbidden fruit” would bring about physical death and shatter the harmonious relationship between God and man, Satan convinced Eve otherwise. According to the account recorded in Genesis, we read:
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the Garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, we may heat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. The Bible teaches that the lie Satan used to trick Eve triggered the fall of man and brought the curse upon the original creation. This idea that mankind has the potential for godhood was not only effective then but has carried on throughout the centuries and continues to dupe mankind today. Humans, by the help of the inspiration of Satan, still have the innate belief that mankind is on the verge of attaining godhood. God-like abilities are within their grasp. All you have to do is believe the lie.
The indoctrination of Darwinian evolution, which has occurred on a global basis, has laid the foundation for this belief. According to evolution and the ideas promoted by eastern religion, humans have the potential to take the next step of evolution and be elevated to a higher level of consciousness.
In addition, there is now another factor fueled by the rapidly advancing technology of our day claiming that mankind is now capable of directing evolution. This is known as the field of science called transhumanism. The definition of transhumanism according to the Oxford dictionary is: “The belief or theory that the human race can evolve beyond current physical and mental limitations, especially by means of science and technology. [2]
Or read the following statement from a recent article titled Land Warns of Embracing a Frankenstein Future:
A Christian theologian says he has major concerns with the international and intellectual movement called "Transhumanism" that seeks to artificially enhance existing human beings. . . . “It's being predicted that within the next 30 years nanobots – tiny robots – will be placed in the brains of people to enhance their intelligence.” [He] says that suggests an effort to "artificially evolve" humans into a higher state. [3]
The Bible says that whatever has happened in the past has the potential of happening again. Is this article correct in its assessment of transhumanism’s goal to evolve man?
Absolutely! Satan’s lie is still effective.
