John 10:14-16 "I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd."
There is no other way to understand or interpret this well-known portion of scripture. Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd who watches over and protects the sheep. While men try to play the role of being a good shepherd, they most often fail because they do not point the sheep to Jesus Christ. It is for this reason that Christianity is in shambles today. It is for this reason that sheep are following men and even women over the cliff as shepherds dressed in sheep’s clothing act as pied pipers.
Application: There still remain genuine shepherds that faithfully point their flocks to Jesus Christ and His Word. While they are few and far between it is important to find such a shepherd and tell others who are having difficulty finding a good church. If you find that this is not possible in your area, town or city, then form a fellowship with other believers either in your home or online.
