John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Many so-called Christians scoff at the term “born again” even though it is clearly mentioned in the Bible. Often those who are born again by biblical definition are considered to be religious fanatics. The definition of being born again is simple. When one accepts the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for our sins on the cross, repents and asks for forgiveness, then the Spirit of God dwells within them and the person becomes a new creation in Christ Jesus.
Application: Perhaps you have asked someone if they are born again and received a hostile reaction. This is usually an indication that the person who is upset with you has no concept of the gospel. Most people believe they are Christians because they live a good enough life style to qualify. Not according to the words of the Bible as proclaimed by Jesus. If you want to spend eternity in heaven, then you must be born again.
