God's Word For Today |
|||||
Daniel 4:1-3 "Nebuchadnezzar the king, to all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me. How great are His signs, and how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation."
Nebuchadnezzar, an unbelieving king, proclaimed to the world that he believed in the existence of God, the Creator of the universe. He also boldly stated that he had experienced miraculous signs and wonders. He rightfully stated the truth that the kingdom of God is an everlasting kingdom and that God rules forever and ever. This shows that even those who have not submitted to God can know about God but not have not confessed their sins and become part of the family of God.
Application: It is not enough to just know about God, even if one has experienced the miraculous hand of God. There are many in the world today as in the past who have encountered God but by their own free will have chosen to rule and reign on their own without recognizing that we are all subject to a sovereign God.
