Isaiah 51:6-7 "Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, The earth will grow old like a garment, and those who dwell in it will die in like manner; but My salvation will be forever, and My righteousness will not be abolished. Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, you people in whose heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their insults."
The most important factor in life for any person who has ever lived or will ever live is where they will spend eternity based on the offer of salvation by the grace of God. The world will pass away but the promises of God are eternal for those who accept His offer. Isaiah also set our priorities right when it comes to our loyalty to God. It seems many choose to fear man and therefore do not stand up for God. Fearing man is a trap that Satan uses to sidetrack man from serving the Lord.
Application: No one should get attached to the things of this world. This present universe is only temporal and will someday disappear. Only those things in life that are connected to our eternal God, our Savior Jesus Christ, will remain. Don’t fear the insults of men who think they know more than God because their lives can be futile and a waste of time.
