God's Word For Today

2 Samuel 1:25-27

"How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle! Jonathan was slain in your high places. I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; you have been very pleasant to me; your love to me was wonderful, surpassing the love of women. How the mighty have fallen, and the weapons of war perished!"

Comment:

History reveals that those who once held power and control are subject to an all-powerful God. The plans of man, while lofty and fearful and threatening to those who are weak and powerless often go astray. It is God who decides who is in power in spite of human arrogance.

Application:

Humans should realize that life is like a breath and powerful leaders come and they go. This is also true for powerful nations that have an agenda to rule the world. Time has a way of making the playing field level.
