God's Word For Today |

Job 33:4-6 "The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. If you can answer me, set your words in order before me; take your stand. Truly I am as your spokesman before God; I also have been formed out of clay."
In these verses Job is describing who he is and how he is made. His physical body is made from the dust of the earth exactly the way it is. An analysis of the human body shows that we are composed of the elements of the earth and water. Most importantly, the Spirit of God called the “breath of the Almighty” is what connects Job with his maker. The third component is the soul or the mind which permits every human to make personal choices to be obedient to the Creator or not. Every human has a free will and therefore one makes their own personal choice to be obedient to God or not.
Application: Have you ever thought about who you are and how you function? In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and all things, inanimate or alive. God created Adam and Eve with a spirit, soul and a body. When Adam and Eve fell, the Spirit God had breathed into them departed and no longer was there communion between them. This is the condition that every human is born into when they are born. The Bible teaches that when a human accepts the sacrifice for sin that Jesus made for us on the cross, the Spirit of God dwells in man once again and once more we are connected with God. If you want your life to be connected with the God of the Bible, then this is what you need to do.
