Psalm 121:1-3 "I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber."
The Psalmist explains what all human beings should do as we pass day by day through life. We should always look to the LORD for help in all we do and however we do it. He further explains that the helper is the One who made the heavens and the earth. The Creator of the universe, is the One who will be by our side and help us twenty-four hours of the day, each day of the year. While we will face difficult times, the LORD is always there and he will see when we fail and help us to get back on the right path.
Application: Many are used to the concept of having a personal coach or trainer to direct certain aspects of their lives. Coaches provide advice regarding our progress and usually make suggestions on how to improve. Compare this concept with having the Creator of the universe as a personal coach who knows what is best for our lives. Also, consider the wisdom we receive from reading His Word which is the manual of life. As we start a new year, stop and think how you can apply this to your own life. Are there things you can do that will improve the relationships you have with others because you have a better relationship with Jesus?
