God's Word For Today |
|||||
Jeremiah 31:16-17 "Thus says the LORD: "Refrain your voice from weeping, And your eyes from tears; For your work shall be rewarded, says the LORD, And they shall come back from the land of the enemy. There is hope in your future, says the LORD, That your children shall come back to their own border."
Comment: While the majority of the words uttered by Jeremiah came as a stinging rebuke to the children of Israel, these words indicate some hope for those who have gone astray. Applying this to today, does this mean the same for those who have swallowed the apostasy? From a scriptural standpoint, there is always hope but certainly no guarantee.
Application: God has always offered forgiveness for those who repent. Repentance is the key. When we, our children or anyone else sees the error of our way and ask God for forgiveness, repentance will be granted and a new path will be granted.
