God's Word For Today

Hebrews 11:6

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

Comment:

Faith is trusting in God who he is and what he has said and then being obedient. Faith is not something that one feels or can be transferred or manipulated. True faith is knowing Jesus Christ the Creator and doing His will while we journey the road of life, being a servant and not expecting to be served. We walk by faith not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Application:

While we should not be focused on receiving rewards from the Lord, the only true reward comes from knowing Him because of our faith in Him. Faith is actually a gift from God by His grace. I do not believe that we even deserve to have the gift. His gift is by His grace. The Bible says by faith are we saved, not by works, lest any man should boast. Salvation is by faith and it is by faith that we are saved.
