God's Word For Today |
|||||
Acts 20:35 “I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.' ”
Comment: For Paul the apostle, looking after the weak and the unfortunate is a prerequisite for every Christian. While the Bible states there will always be the poor, the rich and fortunate that do not make an effort to help will have to answer for their greed and self-centeredness.
Application: Many financially successful Christians forget why they are successful. While they may consider their wealth the product of their own intelligence or the way they operate their affairs, the fact is that each breath they take is because of the grace of God. At least some of their finances and some of the talents should go to helping others in need. It least that is what I think!
