God's Word For Today

John 3:8

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

Comment:

Being born of the Spirit means to be born again. Being born again means that the Spirit of God dwells in you and fills the void that is found in everyone born naturally since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. The Spirit of God is equated with the wind and the source cannot always be determined.

Application:

Being born again spiritually is the crux of Christianity. There are many who claim to be Christian and identify as born again and masquerade as believers. Only God knows who is born again and who is not. There will be many surprises in eternity when the role is called up yonder.
