God's Word For Today |

1 Corinthians 15:50-53 "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."
Comment: The simple belief that the time is coming when God will rapture believers into His presence is scoffed at by many who profess to follow Jesus Christ. For example, most who follow the Pope in Rome fit into this category. Also many others who would have once believed this in the past are now “enlightened” by the teachings of Rome and they too are scoffers. This having been said, then let the scoffers explain the previous scriptures and be comfortable with their disbelief. When the time comes the scoffers will know the truth. Application: While many claim the rapture of the church is heretical, those who take the Bible seriously see this as the blessed hope. Further, those who believe in the rapture are often termed “escapist” in their views. Where do you stand? Is this important to you? Maybe read the verses again and have an open mind.
