Crossmatch announced that its DigitalPersona Pro Enterprise software and U.are.U 4500 fingerprint readers have been deployed throughout First Bank branch locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Serving more than 162,000 customers, First Bank chose Crossmatch’s biometrics-based solution to meet the stringent log-in requirements for its hosted core banking system.
Before implementing the Crossmatch solution earlier this year, First Bank’s more than 850 full- and part-time employees were required to remember and enter strong and complex passwords to access their banking system and applications. Employees were required to change passwords every 30 days, causing First Bank’s help desk to be regularly directed away from their daily responsibilities to reset forgotten passwords. Crossmatch provided First Bank with a fast and secure way to log onto its core system and applications, allowing it to centrally manage password templates and store credentials.
Using the Crossmatch solution, First Bank employees are now able to simply log into any workstation with a simple touch of their finger and their credentials stay with them regardless of where they are working in the branch. Since implementing the Crossmatch solution, First Bank has expanded its use from the core banking system to 76 web applications across its enterprise. As a result, more than 90 percent of First Bank’s employees now use the Crossmatch solution.
“Financial institutions around the world are using Crossmatch solutions to meet the security requirements of their core banking platforms,” said Crossmatch CEO Richard Agostinelli. “Our biometrics-based solutions empower financial institutions to prevent theft, drive operational efficiency, mitigate costly data breaches and comply with ever-changing industry regulations.”
