Bank Muscat has partnered with the Royal Oman Police to launch a biometric identification system to improve customer service in branch transactions, according to a report by Times of Oman.
Bank Muscat’s new biometric system is compatible with the Sultanate’s national identification card, making it the first of its kind in the banking sector in Oman.
To authenticate banking transactions at Bank Muscat branches, customers must insert their national identification card in the biometric machine and validate their identity by scanning their fingerprint on the machine.
