January 7 - Sing of salvation...sip some suds
Article: Emerging Church
It was a Sunday during Advent, and inside a
small pub a few blocks up from the north shore of Lake Superior, 17 people
gathered around four bar-top tables shoved into a ring. Spending Sunday
mornings in a bar sounds like an activity for those running from God. For
this small group in a watering hole in Twin Harbors, about 160 miles
northeast of Minneapolis, it's about chasing God.
It's one unconventional place of worship around the country fostered by an
evangelical movement known as "the emerging church."
"I feel closer to God
here than I do at a conventional church,"
said Nelson, 56, a lifelong churchgoer who until recently could be found
every Sunday morning in the pews at First Baptist Church nearby. "Jesus said
we're supposed to be a light to the world.
What better place to do that than at a bar?"
Last spring, Fletcher was accepted in Bethel
Seminary in St. Paul; he now commutes 150 miles south one to two times a
week for classes. Initially he intended to incorporate work as a chaplain
into his job working with an ambulance crew, but as he began his seminary
studies he found common ground with a
recent wave of evangelical thinkers including Brian McLaren and Shane
Claiborne.
McLaren and Claiborne
have criticized some of Christianity's more
conservative traditions as they try to attract people disinterested in
traditional Sunday attendance - in particular, younger people.
"I often find the
people in the bar are a lot more authentic than people in the church,"
Fletcher said. "If Jesus was in Two
Harbors, he'd want to be with the people in the bar. He'd probably get
kicked out of the church."
"It's kind
of nice to go to church and have a couple," said
Anderson, attending for the first time. "I'm not exactly a churchgoer."
Anderson, who grew up Roman Catholic, said he realized the church wasn't for
him the day he wore a Ted Nugent T-shirt to Mass and was reprimanded by the
priest.

January 4 - False Churches and Islam together in war on state of Israel
Article: Israel Amd The Last Days
The World Council of
Churches is at war with Israel and God of the Bible. The document that
exposes the WCC, is called:"Palestine-Israel Ecumenical Forum. Proposed
Strategic Plan of Actions 2009-2010″.
This Ecumenical Forum
has WCC as one of its main sponsors and supporters,
This strategy document includes the war plan, on
how the state of Israel can be changed from having a Jewish majority, to
became a Muslim state.
To be able to
delegitimize Israel, the WCC needs to change the
attitude of evangelical Christians. They are the strongest defenders of
Israel, outside of Jewish Zionism.
The Palestine-Israel
Ecumenical Forum uses a "Christ"
to attack Israel. This "Christ" includes the Muslims as
"children of God". That is inline with the teaching of the
Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church.
Lets take a look at
the content of the strategic document:
"Since there is no partiality in Christ, all social,
political, economic, military and other walls that divide or separate
Palestinians and Israelis, Christians, Jews and Muslims, must be
dismantled".
What the WCC present
to the World is a false religion, with a copy of "Christ" in
its center.
"For the last forty years the Christian churches have called
for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine."
Like the Nurenberg
Laws in Nazi Germany in 1935, the WCC
wants to make it a criminal offense to do business with true Jews.
Because true Jews believe they have a Biblical right
to live on the Mountains of Zion, and will refuse to be deported from
their homes.

January 8 - New juvenile delinquent rehab program may soon include yoga, tai chi
Article: Misc.
Barry Holman,
interim deputy director of the Washington, D.C., Department of Youth
Rehabilitation Services (DYRS), has come up with
a new approach to overcome the agency's
current flailing system: yoga.
According to a recent report in the Washington Examiner,
Holman has petitioned his staff members for help in finding someone
to teach D.C.'s troubled youth the "mind-body" techniques he believe
may help them.
"It was an exercise on my part
to see what other qualities,
besides the professional qualities, that they can bring to the job,"
explained Holman to the Examiner about his idea.
"We're always looking at expanding our
offerings," he is quoted as saying.
"The benefits of
yoga
or tai-chi are no different for youth in a correction facility than
for anyone else." And his plan could work, as it
just might provide troubled youth with the
physical and mental stimulation they need to stay out of prison.
Yoga has also been shown to alleviate depression and improve mental
health, reduce stress, boost heart function, and reduce
inflammation, among other things.
These factors together have
the potential not only to improve the mental stability of troubled
youth, but also improve their overall physical health, in
conjunction with standard rehabilitation protocols.

January 7 - Researchers discover a shocking 96 percent decline in four major bumblebee species
Article: Signs Of The Last Times
New research
published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of
Sciences has found that another vitally
important pollinator, the bumblebee, is in serious
decline. According to the figures, there has
been a shocking 96 percent decline
in four major species of the bumblebee, and an up to 87 percent
decrease in their overall geographic coverage.
"We provide
incontrovertible evidence that multiple Bombus species have
experienced sharp population declines at the national level,"
explained researchers in their report. And in a phone interview with
Reuters, study author Sydney Cameron from the University of
Illinois, Urbana, explained that these
bumblebee species are "one of the most important pollinators of
native plants."
Over the course of three years, the
research team
evaluated 382 different sites in 40 states, and mulled data from
over 73,000 museum records. They determined that
bumblebees are needed to pollinate various
fruits and vegetables, and that they accomplish this task in a very
unique way.
In other words, without
bumblebees and the special way in which they pollinate, entire
segments of agriculture are threatened with extinction.
Like honeybees (http://www.naturalnews.com/028899_h...)
and bats (http://www.naturalnews.com/027971_p...),
bumblebees are vital in order to
grow food. Without them, humanity will starve to death.
Misleadingly, many experts largely blame various
pathogens, fungi and viruses for the die-offs of these pollinators,
while giving only a brief mention -- if any at all --
to the toxic
pesticides
and herbicides that are increasingly being linked to things like
colony collapse disorder (CCD), the name given to the mass bee
die-off phenomenon. A recently leaked report, for instance,
has revealed that a popular Bayer
herbicide
is responsible for killing off bees (http://www.naturalnews.com/030921_E...).

January 8 - Scientists uncover truth about fluoride and other water contaminants
Article: One World Government
There have been numerous studies
highlighting the adverse effects of water fluoridation and other
drinking water contaminants, but a slew of new scientific findings
have sparked even more opposition to these chemicals than ever
before. Most shockingly, a study
has even linked fluoride to lower IQ in children. In the same vein,
deadly carcinogens have been found in cities across the United
States. Hexavalent chromium, also known as chromium-6, is a deadly
carcinogen that was found in the
drinking water
of 31 U.S. cities.
Fluoride is added
to 70% of the U.S. water supply. Kids who drink this water suffer
from decreased cognitive function, according
to
research
published in Environmental Health Perspectives, a publication of the
National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. The study
followed 512
children
between the ages 8 and 13, with varying degrees of
fluoride
exposure. One group lived in a Chinese village with high fluoride
levels, and the other in a Chinese village with low fluoride
levels. With these variables eliminated, researchers found that the
number of intelligent children in the village with low fluoride
levels was 350 percent higher than
those in the high fluoride village. Even more disturbing, 15% of the
highly fluoridated children scored low enough to indicate mental
retardation, verses 6% in the other village.
While fluoride and hexavalent chromium are cause
for concern, there are other substances in the country's drinking
water that also warrant concern. The first of
which is
lead,
which can enter the water supply through corrosive pipes or improper
water treatment. Pathogens, which are infectious agents, can also be
found in many cities worldwide. Chlorine, while a hazard itself,
actually reacts with other
chemicals
to create even more poisonous substances. Trihalomethanes and
haloacetic acids are two such by-products,
which have been linked to cancer and
reproductive problems. While it is not possible
to discuss the long list of drinking water toxins in depth, as it is
too extensive, arsenic and radon
are among the other primary chemicals found in the water.
It is important to remember that exposure to
these chemicals is not limited to simply drinking the water.
Showering and bathing in tap water
will lead to the absorption of these substances through the skin,
and can account for even more toxic buildup than drinking the water.
The studies are conclusive, and the information
is being compiled more steadily than ever before.
Water
fluoridation
and pollution now stands as a mainstream issue that must be
addressed. When the people loudly voice their
opposition to the chaotic state of their drinking water,
it will be the end of governmental water contamination.

January 7 - God Behind the Big Bang, Pope Says
Article: Creation/Evolution - Evolution Propaganda
The
Big Bang was an act of God, with divine will bringing
the universe into being, Pope Benedict XVI told a gathering of Catholics at
the Vatican.
Benedict has worked
to integrate modern
scientific theories into religious teaching,
saying that God is responsible for evolution and that the Bible story of the
world's creation in six days is an allegory.
Reaction to Benedict's
comments have been mixed.
An MSNBC poll
showed 40.7 percent of respondents agreeing that
"there is no God and the Big Bang was probably responsible for all
creation." Nearly 30 percent responded, "I agree with the pope. If there was
a Big Bang, it was God's work."
PZ Myers, an associate professor of biology at the University of
Minnesota Morris, was unimpressed by Benedict's scientific qualifications to
discuss the Big Bang. "The Pope has announced that God was the cause behind
the Big Bang, which is nice,"
Myers wrote on his
blog.
"Unfortunately, he hasn't shown any data, nor has he published in any of the
physics journals."

December 18 - Isle Unitarians celebrate the light
Article: New Age
Long
before Dec. 25 became the date for the celebration of Christmas,
the darkest days of winter frightened ancient people
into performing rituals that evolved into religious celebrations of light.
"Pagans
used to light fires and bang drums to chase away the darkness because they
were afraid the light wouldn't come back," said Joan Schumacher, a lay
minister at The First Unitarian Church of Honolulu. "They needed it for
crops. Otherwise they were going to starve."
A Solstice Service to celebrate the return of light and spiritual renewal
will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the church, featuring the Celtic group
Dharma.
Unitarian beliefs are drawn from all different paths
of faith, including an "earth-based spirituality," said Schumacher,
one of the service's organizers. Recognizing the
winter solstice pays respect to the "cycles of the earth and the universe.
... It brings our lives into harmony with the earth," she said.
Fewer and fewer people are satisfied with
mainline religions or dogmatic interpretations of God, and have increasingly
turned to earth-based spiritual practices in recent years,
he said.
"What you would call paganism is just an appreciation
of nature. It's concrete, not abstract. ... It's (nature) what sustains us,"
Bond-Upson said. "We're looking for
religious truth wherever we can find it and we're increasingly drawing on
other wisdom.
Some of the congregation have strong Jewish,
Christian and Buddhist roots and retain their core beliefs, "but they're
seekers, free thinkers," Bond-Upson said.
As
First Unitarian is a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Association of
Congregations, "Unitarians believe God is
One, not divided into a trinity (Father, Son and Holy Ghost). This universe
is all united; all is one thing because God was one, rather than three.
... We Unitarians
embrace it all, unless it is hateful, exclusive or contrary to reason."
He added: "In the end,
nobody goes to hell. God is too good. God is not a sadist. We focus on the
unity and goodness of God."

December 26 - News Alert - Rick Warren Goes Green
Article: Emerging Church
COMMENT FROM UTT:
It has been reported that Rick Warren
has gone green. This is no surprise to those who see the
emerging church as another bridge to Rome and also the hug a
tree for Jesus movement as the final straw for ecumenical
madness.
While UTT tried to warn Calvary Chapel several years ago
what was going to happen, Gayle Irvin was busy promoting The
Shack, Boby Coy was joining hands with Rob Bell and Skip
Heitzig was dancing with Billy and Franklin Graham.
Then just in case there is any doubt, Greg Laurie became may
became the new banner boy for dancing with the stars as his
crusade overflowed Due to inclement weather there will be no
skating on Anaheim pond.
UTT looks forward to see who will be in the remnant and go
on to share the gospel to the lost while the majority will
be have fun pretending to be born again Christians while
attending church the odd Sunday.
