THE UN, ISRAEL AND ISLAM
The United Nations is a world organization that is supposed to be dedicated to bringing about peace to the world. Everyone knows that the greatest threat to peace is because of strife in the Middle East between Jews and Muslims. So what is the United Nation’s solution?
…………………………………………………………………………...
If you have never looked at a map of Israel, you should. Have your Bible in one hand and look for a number of the cities and towns that the Bible mentions – for example, Nazareth, Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
Now ask yourself, where did these names come from? Do these places have anything to do with the Jewish people? If you are wondering why I am asking these simple questions, there is a reason. Did you know there is a trend in the world today to wipe Israel off the map and replace it with a Palestinian nation?
Consider the following article titled “UN Ceremony Includes Map of ‘Palestine’ In Place of Israel” published December 9, 2005. Here is how it begins:
The United Nations held a "Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People" last week. A large map of “Palestine,” with Israel literally wiped off the map, featured prominently in the festivities. The ceremony was held at the UN headquarters in New York and was attended by Secretary General Kofi Annan and the Presidents of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly. [1]
Now, you should have picked up the significance as I read this statement. A meeting held at the United Nations, attended by the Secretary General of the United Nations to honor the Palestinian people, displayed a map of the Middle East - without any Israel.
But that is not all. There is more to indicate that UN Officials knew exactly what they were doing. Quoting again from the article:
With the map hanging behind him, Secretary-General Annan addressed the public meeting at UN Headquarters. At the start of the ceremony, the dignitaries present asked attendees to observe a moment of silence. “I invite everyone present to rise and observe a minute of silence in memory of all those who have given their lives for the cause of the Palestinian people,” the master of ceremonies said. [2]
Now, I have thought about what I am now going to say carefully, before doing this program. I don’t want to be as biased as the United Nations leaders in their one-sided effort to promote an Islamic Arab state and replace a Jewish nation that has always called Israel their homeland. It is true that Palestinian lives have been lost for their cause. What about Israel and their cause? Many of the Palestinians who lost their lives did so as suicide bombers. Innocent Jews lost their lives, did they not?
So, back to this map that was on display at the UN on Palestinian Day. What was the purpose of wiping Israel off the map? Is this where the world is headed - a Middle East without Israel? In our next program, we will explain, that if the president of Iran has his way, that’s exactly how it would be. However, the Jews don’t need to worry. When the time comes, God will fight for them.
How do I know? It’s in the Bible… Ezekiel 38.
