October 12 - LOMA LINDA: 'Open Mosque Day' planned

The Islamic Community Center of Redlands will hold an "Open Mosque Day" on Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at 24769 Redlands Blvd., Loma Linda.

The day is designed for people of all faiths to visit the center and interact with Muslims.

Dr. Salah Fetieh, chairman of the community center, said the day was set aside because interaction in a spiritual setting between Muslims and people of other faith groups will foster a better understanding and appreciation of each other.

In the current climate of unknown fears and baseless misunderstandings this event hopes to bridge the religious divide and perpetuate peace, Dr. Maher Hathout, chairman of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, said.
